The SPES Group was founded in 2006 through the marriage of Iracema Simon and Zoltan Paulinyi, now joined by their children. The SPES Group fosters musical and artistic exchange around the world, offering professional musical support in multiple languages, logistics planning, artistic presentation, and invitations to new talents.

Violinistof the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra, appointed in 2000
Dr. Zoltan Paulinyi, Hungarian-Brazilian, began his musical studies in Belo Horizonte at two and a half years of age, in the class of Prof. Ricardo Giannetti (Flesch-Odnoposoff school). He studied with violinists Ruggiero Ricci, Leopold La Fosse, Sidney Hart, and Micaela Comberti; composition with Dr. Oiliam Lanna, Harry Crowl, and Dr. Christopher Bochmann (University of Évora); and singing with Prof. Flávio de Moraes.
Violinist with the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra since 2000 (principal viola in 2009; principal first violin in 2007, 2010, and 2016–21), also performing on his rare viola pomposa, built by luthier Carlos Martins del Picchia. Ruggiero Ricci described him as an "exceptionally talented violinist" (1999).
He founded the Escola de Música Paulinyi in 1995, the Schola Cantorum de Brasília in 2012, and the SPES Group in 2006. He is the author of the violin Paulinyi Method (volume 1 — Teachings, volume 2 — Scores) and of numerous publications on musicology, composition, and Gregorian chant.
Awards and international honors include the Pró-Música "Revelation of the Year" Trophy from the Minas Gerais Press (1998), the UFG National Young Soloists Competition (2002), and first place in the Bento de Jesus Caraça Program at the University of Évora (Portugal, 2011-2013). His compositions have premiered internationally at festivals in Romania and at the Funarte Biennials, and the SPES Group has performed in Spain, Portugal, England, Poland, Hungary, Ireland, and France.
Iracema Simon (bassoon, soprano), born in Brasília, holds a degree in Music from the University of Brasília (2008), where she was a researcher and teacher for the "Music for Children" program, coordinating the recorder program in 2006 and 2007. Winner of the international IBERMÚSICAS 2025/26 selection. Scientific Initiation Scholarship recipient (CNPq/PIBIC) with the theme "Solfège in Musical Performance" (2005-2007).
She began her musical studies at age 7 at the Escola de Música de Brasília (EMB), studying with bassoonists Flávio Lopes (EMB-OSTNCS), Gustavo Koberstein (EMB-OSTNCS), and Cristina Porto (EMB). She completed a supervised internship at the "1st Brasília International Winter Festival" (July 2005), studying with bassoonist Alexandre Silvério (OSESP).
The SPES Group was founded in 2006; she began her international career in 2008. She plays a Bell 2011 bassoon. She has taught at the Escola de Música de Brasília since 2012, where she has sung in the Madrigal since 2022, and at the Lycée Français François Mitterrand since 2020. Founder of the KOPA Orchestra in 2022, soloist with the Portuguese AMASING Orchestra in 2025.
João Marcos Simon Paulini (violin) was born in Portugal in 2012, and began studying the art of violin with his father, Dr. Zoltan Paulinyi, in 2013, making his public debut at the traditional Automóvel Club in Belo Horizonte in 2017. He has taken masterclasses with Sherry Kloss (USA), Siow Lee Chin (Singapore), Olga Pak (Korea/Russia), Miguel Campos Neto (Brazil), Elisabeth Kropfitsch (Austria), Oscar Bohórquez (Germany), Elisa Fukuda, and Giuseppe Gibboni (2023).
He performed Paganini in Austria, in Sanghee Cheong's class, in 2019. He has published his compositions internationally since 2018 through SMP. He premiered his father's SAMIV trio, whose recording was commissioned by Canadian writer (Karl) Károly Sándor (1931-2021). He received 3rd prize at the International Competition (UK) for violin in 2020.
Soloist since 2017 with the IACB Orchestra (2019), SPES, KOPA (founder), AMASING (2025), and OSTNCS (2024, 2026). He premiered in Brazil the posthumous Vieuxtemps concerto (No. 8), orchestrated by his father. He currently teaches violin, music, French, and English online.
Pedro Simon Paulini (violin) was born in Brasília in 2015. He has studied violin since 1 year of age with his father, Dr. Zoltan Paulinyi, and composition since age 2. At age 3, Pedro won the Cultura Inglesa Asa Norte Young Talents award in 2019 together with his brother, the same year he also premiered ONITONAL as a soloist with SPES and the IACB Orchestra.
He took masterclasses with German violinist Oscar Bohórquez (2023), Italian violinist Giuseppe Gibboni (2023), and Elisa Fukuda (2023). Reviewer of the violin Paulinyi Method and cover illustrator for his father's publications. Founder and senior soloist of the KOPA Orchestra since 2022, performing works by Vivaldi, Bach, Rieding, and Paulinyi. He was a soloist with the Portuguese AMASING Orchestra at the National Theater in 2025. He premiered Haydn's Violin Concerto in A major in Brazil in 2025.
Frederico Simon Paulini (violin) was born in 2018 and has studied violin since 1 year of age. Founder of the KOPA Orchestra in 2022, where he performs as a soloist premiering his father's works — his father dedicated to him the publication of the Paulinyi Method of Violin Pre-Literacy (2019), now in international use and adopted by the Escola de Música Paulinyi in Asa Norte.
He actively participated in Professor Elisa Fukuda's masterclass in Brasília, 2023, together with his brothers. He premiered concert pieces by Glicínia Mendes (2024), Christopher Bochmann (2023), and Paulinyi (2022 and 2025). He was a soloist with the Portuguese AMASING Orchestra at the National Theater in 2025, recording Vivaldi for TV Senado. He recorded the repertoire selected for the international IBERMÚSICAS 2025/26 award.
