The Paulinyi Method

The modern Paulinyi Method widens the biographical potential of the violin and viola student. It was designed to start early — children from 1 year of age — and follows the student up to professional level.
The method is published in two volumes: Musical Pre-literacy, volume 1 — Teachings and volume 2 — Scores. Enrolment includes the 2 books of the group.

How it works

Assistant teachers charge approximately half of what the senior teachers do. These figures are for reference only.
The monthly fee with the senior teachers is agreed case by case, according to the course, the time slot and the chosen format:

Who teaches
Dr. Zoltan Paulinyi
Doctor of Music/Composition from the University of Évora (Portugal, 2013), Master in Music and Musicology from the University of Brasília (2010). Violinist of the Claudio Santoro National Theatre Symphony Orchestra, appointed by public competition in 2000, viola soloist in 2009 and first violin soloist in 2007, 2010 and 2016-21.
He began his musical studies at the age of two and a half, in the class of Prof. Ricardo Giannetti (Flesch-Odnoposoff school). He studied with the violinists Ruggiero Ricci, Leopold La Fosse, Sidney Hart and Micaela Comberti. Ruggiero Ricci described him as an "exceptionally talented violinist" (2000).
He founded the Paulinyi Music School in 1995 and has taught ever since.
Student results
The teacher’s three sons have studied by the method since they were 1 year old.
João Marcos (violin since 2013) received 3rd prize at the International violin competition in the UK in 2020, has published compositions with SMP since 2018 and is a soloist with the IACB, SPES, KOPA, AMASING and OSTNCS orchestras.
Pedro (violin since the age of 1) won the Young Talents prize of Cultura Inglesa Asa Norte at 3 years old, is founder and senior soloist of the KOPA Orchestra since 2022 and premiered Haydn’s Concerto in A major in Brazil in 2025.
Frederico (violin since the age of 1) is a founder of the KOPA Orchestra, was a soloist with the Portuguese AMASING Orchestra at the National Theatre in 2025 and recorded the repertoire selected by the international IBERMÚSICAS 2025/26 prize.
