Musicians have already been using fractal structures 500 years before mathematicians. Look how contemporary composers are using fractals in order to create new things on computer. And a music professor has a great site with 5 lectures about composition, talking from harmony to serial music.Look articles by Kenneth Rumery , about 12-tone system, and schenkerian analysis .

Scientists love art! Learn about Chaos, the "New Science". This site has lot of links, including fractal music.

The chinese scientists found the eldest flutes, about 5000 years old! They published this article in "Nature", and recorded one of such flutes. It is exciting to listen the original scale which has generated the whole oriental music culture!
